NC Songwriters Co-op Board Meeting - May

This will be a short post, but we had a great time at the NC Songwriters Board Meeting yesterday. We got a lot accomplished, and feel really fortunate to be part of such a great organization. We all work hard, and it can be frustrating at times, but it is all worth it when you see things really start to come together. We truly hope more artists become involved in this organization and help build it to the place it needs to go. Membership is only $25.00 for the first year, and $10 each year that you renew. It blew my mind to hear someone say that they didn't want to pay the $10 renewal fee because the Co-op never did anything for them. Of course we asked, "What have you done to be involved with the Co-op". The answer, "nothing". Then we offered one of the flyers showing how many opportunities there are as a member of the Co-op and the guy said that he didn't know we did all that. I don't know how, but we've got to do a better job of getting the word out. Oh, one really cool thing is that we decided on a banner for our events. We'll be debuting it at the Eno Festival in July.
